It’s always important to look for the ENERGY STAR label when purchasing LED's. The ENERGY STAR program identifies the top 25% of the best performing, most energy-efficient products by availability in the market by category. If you opt to not purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified LED, make sure it has passed IESNA LM-79 testing. This testing is required by all ENERGY STAR qualified LED's and tests for product quality. Other characteristics you want to check for on LED's can be found on the Federal Trade Commission’s Lighting Fact Label. This label provides basic information on all general service lamps that is critical for you to understand in order to make an informed purchasing decision.
