LED's: long-lasting and better for the environment

Unlike other light sources, LED's don’t suddenly “burn out”.  Instead, they gradually fade in brightness after a very long amount time.  Good quality white LED's are expected to have a rated useful life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours.  A typical incandescent lamp lasts about 1,000 hours.  So by switching to LED's, you won't have to worry about changing your lights until a huge amount of time has passed.  It's just yet another reason why businesses, organizations, and individuals are choosing LED's over "normal" incandescent bulbs.  Go green with LED's!
